Why a Mothers Circle Cookbook?

Many Mothers Circle participants share in the tradition of cooking special foods for Jewish holidays, Shabbat and on other Jewish occasions. Inspired by the recipes that Mothers Circle participants share on The Mothers Circle National Listserve and have cooked together as Mothers Circle course participants, we decided to compile these recipes as a resource for The Mothers Circle and the greater community.

The cookbook also serves as an innovative fundraising project for the Jewish Outreach Institute (JOI)---the organization that created The Mothers Circle and works with the facilitators who implement the course---to help it offer additional meaningful programs like The Mothers Circle to participants free of charge.
