Dovetail Institute 4th National Conference for Intermarried Families

“Rejoice in Your Choice: Finding Common Ground In Interfaith Families”

August 6 – 8th

Berkeley, California

This conference brings together intermarrieds and the professional groups that support them in a single non-denominationally affiliated conference.

You will hear plenary session speakers and attend small group workshops, some of which are experientially based and deal with practical life skills unique to intermarried life.

There are four tracks in the workshop programming (i) making choices, (ii) implementing choices, (iii) deepening spirituality in relationships, and (iv) scholarship and practices. There will be a special Sunday afternoon session on resources in the San Francisco Bay Area that includes the work of some of the outreach agencies in the San Francisco Bay Area,

You will have a chance to learn about the new proposals for Conservative Judaism on the role of intermarried in congregational life, hear the research results of the Rabbinic Center for Research and Counseling on the children of intermarriage, and get a change to talk with other intermarrieds about their choices and experiences.

You will also hear a dialogue between two eminent Bay Area professors of religion on the topic of “Torah and Jesus and view the documentary “Mixed Blessings” and talk with its producer Jennifer Kaplan.

We will relevant materials on all aspects of intermarried life available for purchase in an exhibit area that will be open throughout the conference.

This is a dynamic conference where you will meet people engaged in situations like your own – whether you’re engaged, raising a young family, living with older children, finding your ways as grandparents in an interfaith family, or a serving intermarried as an ordained or licensed professional,
