My husband and I both are remarried and we each have 2 children from prev marriages. My husband is Jewish, I am not. His children are being raised within jewish faith still. His family has barely tolerated me from the start. My father recently passed away 6 weeks ago. Can anyone help me understand how his family could be so insensitive..not to come to funeral home/funeral, send flowers, send donation to hospice, send food, or even a card??? His family lives approx 50 minutes from where we live. Even if they physically could not come, wouldnt you think they would do something? After all, I am the daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, etc....I have never had a falling out with these people, I've always been kind to them. My husband saw a new side to his family after this happened, he was shocked! We dont know what to do. I really have no desire to forge a reltionship with them after they were so disrespectful to me/my family. I wont hold my husband back from going up there to visit but he says right now...he has no desire. I am not a vindictive gal, why should I try anymore especially when it gets me no where. I did try so hard before although they were always cold in the heart.
I might ad that my husbands first wife was jewish, but guess what/ they didnt like her either.Any suggestions for us???
