The rabbis note
that each of the species represent a person from
the Torah. The number used helped them out with
determining the significance of two. The aravot/willows,
with two branches, and clusters of two leaves, represent
the brother team of Moses and Aaron. The hadasim/myrtles
represent the Patriarchs, Abraham Isaac and Jacob.
The etrog is like David and the Lulav like Joseph.
When they are used together, we are putting together
the lineage of our ancestors. |
