Federation annual meeting slated June 10

The Jewish Federation of Greater Portland 2010 Annual Meeting will be at 7 p.m., June 10 at the Benson Hotel, 309 SW Broadway.

The meeting will feature election of board members, a tribute to retiring executive vice president Charles Schiffman, a panel discussion on innovative programs created with the aid of federation funding and a dessert reception.

Schiffman has served the community for 23 years. He announced his retirement at last year’s annual meeting. While a replacement has yet to be found, Schiffman intends to retire at the end of June.

The panel discussion, “Investing for the Future During Challenging Times,” will feature representatives from The Greater Portland Hillel, The Mothers Circle, Jewish Theatre Collaborative and the Community Relations Committee’s New Orleans Project.

Governing Board nominees are: renominated for three-year term: Rob Shlachter; nominated for three-year term: Layton Borkan, Lauren Goldstein, Lee Gordon, Jordan Plawner, Dr. Mark Rosenberg, Larry Wasserman and Marcia Weiss.
