Standing Together to Say We are All Jews
The Israeli conversion bill that
caused quite a stir over the last few weeks has been put on hold for the next six months. In that time, Natan Sharansky, head of the Jewish Agency and one of the bill’s most prominent opponents, will lead a “committee of the Reform, Conservative and Orthodox movements” in negotiations to hopefully reach a compromise among everyone. Adam Bronfman, managing director of the Samuel Bronfman Foundation, believes this six-month window provides an incredible opportunity for Israel and Jews across the globe – we can all stand together and say, “I am a Jew.”
