Happy Hanukkah!
![]()
A woman goes to the post office to buy stamps for her Hanukkah cards.
She says to the clerk, “May I have 50 Hanukkah stamps?”
The clerk says, “What denomination?”“Oh my goodness,” the woman says. “Has it come to this? Give me 16 Orthodox, 22 Conservative, and 12 Reform!”
Just a friendly reminder from the Jewish Outreach Institute that as we enter the Hanukkah season, let’s work towards fulfilling Big Tent Judaism Principle number 8: Collaborate with other Jewish organizations across institutional and denominational lines. Individual organizations cannot be all things to all people, so outreach works best as a community-wide endeavor. It’s a principle to remember not only as we prepare our Hanukkah celebrations, but also as we look forward to 2011.
Happy Hanukkah! May the lights of Hanukkah illuminate the path for inclusion for us and the entire Jewish community.
