Jewish Family ServiceJFS Seattle has repeatedly affirmed its stance as a welcoming and open place for people to engage with the Jewish community. As an agency that serves the broader community as well, we routinely reach out to unaffiliated, interfaith, and underserved populations. Barriers to participation are quite low: many free and low cost programs, no language or Jewish literacy expected, no membership, etc. We regularly partner with secular organizations and use secular media, and often hold events in secular settings. For example, our Mothers Circle course is held at a local grocery store. Services include a longstanding interfaith family program, workshops on identity issues, holiday services for Jews with disabilities and with a recent expansion of resources, enhanced outreach to GLBTQ Jews. We are happy to help connect newcomers with the community. Our Mom2Mom volunteers often go to Tot Shabbat with new moms. Finally, as a service agency, excellent customer service and continuous quality improvement are imperative for us. We are happy to be a frequent entry point to the Jewish community for people from many backgrounds.Programs We Offer to Open Our Tent
