Temple Emanuel

Inclusivity is a vital part of our synagogue's mission. Both the Jewish and the non-Jewish spouse are considered members and are encouraged and permitted to be active in the synagogue. Every effort is made to minimize the differences between what the Jewish and the non-Jewish spouse are permitted to do during the prayer service. We are creating a young couples interfaith cohort, which will meet each month, to create community and to learn more about Judaism and the special issues facing interfaith couples in a safe and warm environment. I, as the rabbi, will attend these meetings to emphasize that the cohort had my full backing and support. The first vice president and a number of board members are spouses in interfaith marriages.
