Temple Beth-ElWe are a very diverse congregation, we have members of color, a wide variety of ethnicities, same sex couples as well as gays and lesbians. Ages go from newborn to over 100, and newly married to couples who have been married 60 plus years. We have very wealthy members and those that pay almost nothing. We have many members who are Jews by Choice as well as a large number of interfaith couples. We do a wide variety of outreach into the wider community, Meals on Wheels, cooking for the homeless and adopting an economically disadvantaged middle school. We hold a year round Intro to Judaism Class, beginning and intermediate Hebrew, Adult Bar and Bat Mitzvah Classes and do Taste of Judaism once a year. Our new members, "old" members and those that are just visiting our Temple are enthusiastically welcomed each Shabbat by our Shalom Committee and we have a mentor program for Intro to Judaism students. We won a Belin Award for our program Honoring Non Jewish Spouses Raising Jewish Children and our Senior Rabbi has written a booklet entitled, "You are a member and you are not Jewish."Programs We Offer to Open Our Tent
