Mount Zion Temple

Mount Zion has for the past thirty years, if not more, focused on being an inclusive congregation especially welcoming to interfaith families. Many outreach efforts were started here in the 1970s that became models for others. In the years since, we often have framed conversations about non-Jews involvement in our community to be about the value of inclusion that at times is in tension with integrity [read: Jewish tradition and values]. This framing has helped clarify the roles non-Jews play in the membership, governance and ritual life of the congregation.

Our introduction classes including a 3 week class: "Building a Jewish Home, Creating a Jewish Family" has attracted many to deeper involvement in Judaism and our congregation.
