JSSA (Jewish Social Service Agency)JSSA (Jewish Social Service Agency) helps people across the Washington metropolitan area meet emotional, social, and physical challenges. We serve people of all religious backgrounds, races and ethnicities and all ages, regardless of ability to pay. JSSA provides services and support to more than 29,500 individuals a year through our wide range of counseling, vocational and educational services, employment services, in-home support, hospice and nursing care, and social services. Our mission is based on tikkun olam, repairing the world, and tzedakah, righteousness.
JSSA is an inclusive organization in every way, and with our social work base we strive to always meet clients where they are in their lives. Our services include supports for the deaf and hard-of-hearing, those with various disabilities including autism, senior services, Holocaust survivor services and hospice care for the terminally ill. JSSA’s Jewish Chaplaincy services reaches out to the unaffiliated through visits to Jews in hospitals, nursing homes and prisons. Volunteer opportunities include delivering kosher meals-on-wheels, visiting the chronically ill and intergenerational holiday celebrations. Among our community partners are the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington, JCCs, schools, libraries and local governments.
