Temple Emanu-ElTemple Emanu-El places strong emphasis on outreach programming. Our "Taste of Judaism" program brings in 400 people per year. The follow-up class, "Taste II: Jewish in America," lets those who are interested, continue exploring Judaism for another 3 weeks in a relaxed, non-committal way. Education continues with introductory classes that are ideal for interfaith families and conversion students, such as Jewish Home and Family and Holiday Fairs. Our monthly Northwest Shabbat Dinners and services are held at the Hilton El Conquistador. These programs bring Jewish practice and community to mostly unaffiliated Jews who live in Northwest Tucson, and can’t make it to the Temple. The Babies and Bagels Club offers families with young children, monthly events at Temple Emanu-El, and throughout Tucson, that focus on Jewish ritual and practice in a fun, non-threatening way. Parents connect jewishly through Date Night Shabbats: we provide free childcare so that parents can go together to a regular “grown-up” Shabbat service. We also offer a comprehensive conversion program. Another successful outreach tool is our weekly radio show “Too Jewish with Rabbi Sam Cohon and Friends” – an entertaining show, with prominent guest speakers, that highlights everything interesting in the Jewish world, and at Temple Emanu-El, to all of Southern Arizona.Programs We Offer to Open Our Tent
